Which grade levels does LMCC serve?
Kindergarten through 8th grade
How much does it cost to attend LMCC?
LMCC is a tuition-free, public school.

How often do students attend?
Do we need to live in Lincoln to attend?
No. LMCC serves students that reside within Placer, Yolo, El Dorado, Sacramento, and Sutter counties, however distance may be a factor for seat-based learning.
Are immunizations required to attend?
Yes, students must be up to date on their immunizations or have a medical exemption issued through the California Immunization Registry – Medical Exemption website (CAIR-ME) by physicians licensed in California. Shots for Schools.org. However, COVID 19 vaccinations are not currently mandatory for this school year.
What is the difference between Horizon’s LMCC program and independent study?
At LMCC, your child will attend in-person classes and will be taught by a credentialed teacher Monday-Friday. In independent study, the parent is the primary, daily educator and you meet with a supervising teacher every 20 days.
Which curriculum does LMCC use?
K-6th grade students use Guidepost Montessori, augmented with the hands-on Montessori manipulatives, and a variety of other curriculum such as iReady, SIPPS, Words Their Way. The 7th and 8th grade students are using Edgenuity, augmented with project-based learning and iReady.
Do LMCC students receive funds like independent study students?
No, state and federal funds are used to pay for curriculum.
Can my child have dual enrollment with Horizon’s independent study and LMCC?
No, you are either enrolled in the independent study program or LMCC’s seat-based program.
Can my advanced student work above grade level?
Yes, students will receive grade level work so they are prepared for state testing, but can also continue to move forward as standards mastery is reached.

What is Montessori and how is it different from the traditional classroom?
In a Montessori classroom students are encouraged to be independent learners. They work in multi-age classrooms, and have work periods where they take control of their learning.
In the traditional classroom, students are single grade, and are taught from the same curriculum at the same time.
